Oxfam works with local partners, public and private sector institutions to empower citizens to demand transparency and accountability, and most importantly lift the most vulnerable people out of poverty, which is fundamental to changing Nigeria’s story of a rich nation of poor people. Oxfam has been responding to the humanitarian needs of the conflict-affected populations in North East Nigeria. Oxfam has three offices in Adamawa, Borno and Gombe states providing Food Security, Livelihoods, WASH and recently protection interventions to IDPs and vulnerable hosts in camps and settlements. These programmes are implemented in partnership with local partners, Civil Society Coalition for Poverty Eradication (CISCOPE) and Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) - Borno chapter.


Position: Programme Officer, Humanitarian

Job Purpose: To ensure quality and maximum impact of Oxfam Humanitarian responses in North East Nigeria, by supporting the programme teams in emergency preparedness and implementation and also represents the humanitarian team in humanitarian coordination meetings at the national level.

Project: Livelihood and Nutrition Empowerment (LINE)

Oxfam in Nigeria with funding support from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) is implementing a five year Livelihoods and Nutrition Empowerment (LINE) project in Bauchi State. The project is aimed at improving the livelihoods for 10.000 poor and vulnerable households through increased farm productivity, enhanced market access, better nutrition and a more enabling environment for business development in 6 LGAs in Bauchi state.
