Oxfam is an international confederation of 17 organizations (affiliates) networked together in 94 countries, as part of a global movement for change. Together we are working to achieve our vision of 'a just world without poverty' and to be a powerful partner in global and local communities of people connected for change. Our work in Nigeria focuses on:
Central to our work is the belief that empowering citizens to demand transparency and accountability is fundamental to changing Nigeria’s story of a rich nation of poor people.
Oxfam envisions a secure and prosperous Nigeria, where the benefits from economic growth are shared so the basic needs of all people are met; where the rights of women are respected; where all people, especially the youth, can participate in decision making and influence the policies that impact on their lives; and where public and private sector institutions are accountable and transparent.
To achieve this, we work with a wide variety of partners and allies, local and international NGOs, private sector actors, such as community based organizations and regional groups at the local, state and national levels to create a just and fair world for all.
